It sometimes feels like you’re the only one working while everybody else is on vacation during the summer months. Here are a few tips on using your summer hours to build your business during the summer.
When it is summertime, it can seem like many of your clients are not around, and your inbox is almost empty except for some auto-replies. It can be frustrating if you aren’t on a break yourself, but everyone around you seems to be on one. However, you can make the calmer season the best by getting ahead and strengthening your business.
Here are five ways to use your summertime to build your business:
Pitch Prospective Clients
Remember that your completion is probably in vacation mode. This is the ideal time to get ahead and make new business relationships. Don’t forget that your clients could be on vacation, but someone from their team may reply in their absence, thus helping you build more contacts.
Reconnect With Your Network
There are probably some clients or co-workers you have meant to have a lunch meeting with, now is the time to make it happen. Make a list of meetings you want to set up and send out invitations. Your relationships with your business associates and clients could improve this summer if you decide to take the initiative to make it.
Meet With Your Team
Spending more time with your team can improve any business leader’s work. Use the lean summer months to connect with your employees and indulge in team-building activities. This is also the best time to plan the office fun trip you have always wanted but never had the time for.
Do an Audit
This, too, can be difficult to do when you are busy. Use your summer to comb through your company’s expenses and decide what changes can be implemented. Analyze your expenses and prioritize. You can also do some prep work for the months ahead.
Make Time for Yourself
While this is something you should do all the time anyway, it is not always possible. Use the summer to take some time for yourself and plan fun or relaxing activities depending on your needs. This can also be the best time to bring something new to your schedule, whether it is a new exercise, an experience or just business-related reading.
Don’t forget to enjoy the summer while using these slow months as an opportunity to bring more success to your business.
