Your home, but better

Styles change, your needs change, but you don’t want to move homes, so a home addition might be just what you need. Whether it’s an addition to the family requiring a new bedroom, an expanded master bedroom with a walk in closet fit for royalty, or a kitchen remodeled for the budding chief, these are some of the projects Georgian’s craftspeople are ready to make a reality. Not only will this enhance your enjoyment of your home, the value will increase.

Getting started on a home addition

The first step is the Initial consultation. This is where you meet with a one of Georgian’s designers and talk about your goals and budget. It’s an opportunity to figure out if Georgian’s services will be a good fit. It takes about 1-2 hours and is no-obligation. If, at the end of the meeting you decide to go ahead, a contract is signed and the first payment is made. This lets Georgian’s designers get started on a preliminary design.

While the preliminary design is being worked on, Georgian’s staff will do a visual inspection to determine if there are an any problems that might come up during the renovation that can be handled ahead of time. One of the advantages of Georgian’s design process to have a predictable schedule to avoid delays and cost overruns, so they put much effort into solving problems early on in the renovation.

Once the preliminary designers are ready, Georgian’s designers will present them and they can be adjusted based on your needs and budget. Once approved, the next steps are for the designers to prepare the final designs and for you to choose the finishing that will make you addition unique to your home. Georgian’s years of experience with renovations come in handy as they have build up a network of craftspeople, trades people, and a network of suppliers. You can see some of their work on the website and it Georgian’s showroom in Vaughan at Improve Canada. At the end of design process the final design will be presented, and work can begin on building your addition.

One thing that sets Georgian’s design process apart is fixed price construction. Once the final design is prepared you’ll receive a Construction Agreement and a Fixed-Price. In it, everything will be included- no additional costs or surprises along the way.

As the building progresses you’ll receive regular updates from Georgian’s staff and the site will be cleaned daily to minimize disruptions to your home life. On completion there will be a full cleaning of any rooms affected by the renovations, and a complementary duct cleaning. After the final site inspection and sign-off your 5 year warranty with Georgian will commence.
