If you are not familiar with Udemy, it is the biggest online course marketplace. Think of it as Amazon for online courses. It’s a big discount marketplace. But among all their discounts, how do you know which Udemy deals are the ones that save you the most money? This is what we discuss in this article.

Udemy has some site-wide discount almost every week of the year, but if you are just a prospective buyer who wants to take a course, you often see prices on courses like $200 where you can easily get the same course for under $15 or $10 if you know when Udemy runs its sales.

Additionally, instructors can run their own sales a few times a month. For example, here is the current Udemy sale from one of Udemy’s top instructors and below the courses currently on sale, you can see the schedule of when you can expect major Udemy sales to happen throughout the year. Here are all the Udemy course discounts from that same instructor.

Additionally, there is a small hack to get the lowest price possible at any time. Just message the instructor directly via Udemy using the private messages and ask for a discount. Many instructors gladly provide discounts to students because they get a bigger percentage of the sale than if you bought the course through a Udemy promotion and not an instructor promotion.

If you want to buy a course during a time that isn’t close to one of the major seasonal sales and asking the instructor for a discount code didn’t work, you can time Udemy’s weekly deals and flash sales. During most weeks, there is a sale on Tuesday or Wednesday. On some weeks, the sale starts early on the Monday of that week, and during some weeks, the sale ends late on a Thursday. By contrast, most weeks don’t have sales on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. But if a particular week didn’t have a deal during its weekdays, it’s a good sign that the sale might occur on the weekend of that week.

Another hack you can use is to log out of your account or visit Udemy from a browser that doesn’t have a Udemy cookie. Udemy’s website will think you are a first-time visitor who does not have an account yet and will offer you a special discount for new students. It might clutter up your accounts if you have to make an account each time you want to get a further discount, but it is one of the options to get a discount.
